Maybe, but that's beside the point. You should get out of the academic world, and go get a civil engineering job in the real world. Then you will learn. And you'll make a lot more money too. What good is a lecturer with no experience??? If all you want is knowledge, then read a book. Go out and get a real job, for 30 years, and then go back to the Universities. Then at least you will have something to offer to your students.
