What does "ashinadi" mean?

My name is Ashley. My Sicilian grandfather calls me "ashinadi" (uh-sheen-uh-dee) and said it meant ashes in Sicilian. I looked it up and thats wrong. Can anyone tell me if this word has a meaning? I'm not even sure how to spell it
